SUMMER
SURVIVAL

Are you ready to leave civilization?

This week is meant to activate and train your survival skills while you re-connect to nature and become a part of the wilderness that surrounds you…

The summer nights in the Swedish highlands are filled with light, especially in June, July and August when the sun only sets for very few hours. However, during the night temperatures drop significantly and the weather may change from a bright sky to a thunderstorm in no time. But you don’t have to worry: though we will take you up to a totally remote place in the highlands, our mountain lodge as well as tippi tents will provide safe shelter from any possible storm.

In June it can still be too wet in the mountains because of the melting snow from the sub-arctic mountains and glaciers. Therefore, the best time for outdoor survival trip is July, August and September and even early October, before the first snow comes.

Once you have booked we will send over a list of items that you need for this trip. You probably already own some of these things. But please feel free to ask us in case you find something on the list too special to buy only for this occasion. We will surely be able to help you out.

Experienced guides will prepare you in the best possible way and teach you how to stay safe while staying outdoor in the highlands.

The preparation course includes:

  • The right outdoor gear & clothing
  • Understanding and adapting to the different weather conditions
  • How to use the equipment and maps
  • How to pack the rucksack
  • How to avoid and handle dangerous situations
  • How to build safe shelters in an easy way, make fire and prepare food
  • How to use the canoe and/or the kayak in a safe way and how to pack it and use it as a shelter

We let you practice in the “real” outdoors, which means you can train in the most authentic way.

During your trip through the “fjäll” (highlands) you may spot reindeers, foxes and birds and enjoy the unique flora of the area, including edible mushrooms and berries if you happen to come before late September.

The Copper Creek Lodge & Tippi Tents

The Copper Creek Lodge lies in the absolute wilderness, without roads, electricity or running water supply. Here we will cook, play the guitar and sing around an open fire as we enjoy the wild arctic landscapes with panoramic views in 360 degrees.

You will spend your outdoor overnight stays at this lodge in the wilderness or in tippi tents. This live survival practice, will guarantee for a bunch of unforgettable memories.

After your unique outdoor survival adventure you are welcome back to the hotel to warm up in the panorama sauna or the hot tubs and enjoy a three-course dinner at the restaurant.

Accommodation

Your base camp will be at the wonderful Skarvruet Highland Hotel with its vintage wilderness ambience. This is where you participate in the preparatory part of the week in very cosy and safe surroundings.
