The Swedish highlands offer the perfect terrain for a great number of exciting winter activities. In Jämtland we have some of the highest mountains in Sweden, glaciers and genuine arctic environment. Book your week and pack it with all the activities you long for. There are many challenges to take during your winter adventure – just pick your favourites!
You find several slopes for beginners and professionals alike – only a few minutes ride away. Our trainers will teach you how to make your way down the slopes in a safe way.
The tracks that lead you through magical forests and up on the highland plateaus are directly connected to the hotel where you will stay. Your trainer will instruct you on how to use the equipment.
“These shoes are made for walking…” through the deep snow, off the pathways or in the tracks. You can hardly get any further away from civilization than on a tour like this! Snow shoes can take you to the most beautiful places – and they are easy to use.
You can go on a guided tour through the wild arctic landscape. No prior experience with the snowmobile is needed. The leader will give you an instruction on the machine and then guide you on the safest ways through the terrain. You can borrow any equipment if this is your first try and you do not own a proper helmet or a warm overall and gloves.

Do you like the sound of a “good old” machine? Then jump on our snow track oldtimer “Red Beet” and take a truly unique highland tour! If you do not choose to try out the snowmobile, you may jump on this old fellow and simply enjoy an easy ride.
On a crystal clear winter night, when temperatures fall way below -0° we invite you on a snow scooter tour, hunting for the Northern Lights. This natural phenomenon that can be observed at our location during some winter nights. However, we cannot guarantee for the weather conditions to allow for observation during your visit.
It´s free for you to choose, but most probably you will not want to miss this adventure!
The Copper Creek Lodge lies in the absolute wilderness, without roads, electricity or running water supply. Here we will cook, play the guitar and sing around an open fire as we enjoy the wild arctic landscapes with panoramic views in 360 degrees.
You can walk on snow shoes, skies, go on the snowmobile or travel in our snow track vehicle ”Red Beet”.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to build a shelter from ice and snow? Do you want to give it a try? And maybe even sleep over in your very own igloo? We will help you choosing the right spot, built the igloo up together with you and stay around for the night so that you can enjoy this unique experiences feeling totally save.
Go to the mountains on horseback or with a sled. The tour starts in an totally authentic environment and go along genuine unique country villages, all in UNESCO protected areas. You sleep and eat in an authentic old house in the centre of Røros (Norway).
During your trips through the “fjäll” (highlands) and the forests you may spot reindeers, foxes, snow hares and birds.
You may also visit people from the Sami population, the native inhabitants of the northern Scandinavia. The Sami have lived here with their special cultural traditions for centuries. Discover through their stories how they herd the reindeers during wintertime and summertime and go on a little reindeer safari yourself.
Your accommodation will be at the wonderful Skarvruet Highland Hotel with its vintage wilderness ambience. Its wellness area offers a panorama sauna with breath-taking views over the untouched mountains and a wood burning finish sauna built from old timber and a grass roof. The artisanal food served at Skarvruet has the character of the northern wilderness.
During the evenings of your wildlife adventure week, you are welcome back to the hotel to warm up in the saunas or the hot tubs and enjoy a three-course dinner at the restaurant.
